About Weavings
What Is Weavings?
Weavings journal is a bi-monthly publication that seeks to promote informed, committed spiritual growth with attention to the corporate dimension of the spiritual life. Such growth, to which laity and clergy alike are called, embraces all those expressions of discipline and discipleship that mark the Christian's response to God's work of weaving together the torn fabric of life.
Weavings invites participation in the spiritual life, seeking to provide a forum in which our life in the world and the spiritual resources of the Christian heritage can encounter and illuminate one another. The journal strives to create a space in which contributors and readers can converse on important matters of common concern. Organized by themes, each issue presents a broad range of materials.
Who Are We?
John S. Mogabgab is Weavings' first (and only) editor. Whenever he can squeeze out a spare moment, you'll find him flyfishing on nearby rivers, or at home tying exquisite flies that are much too pretty to put in a fish's mouth.
Pamela C. Hawkins returned to Weavings in September 2007 to serve as managing editor. This is her "second time around," having been associate editor from 2001-2004. Although she is an itinerating United Methodist elder, she has whispered a vow of stability in hope to stay put for awhile in this ministry of the heart.
Hattie R. Walker joined the Weavings editorial staff as editorial assistant in April 2000. An upbeat person to begin with, when she is doing things she loves -- spending time with family, working crossword puzzles, reading mysteries, and most of all fishing -- she is over-the-top joyful.
Nelson Kane has been art director on all the issues of Weavings. He lives and works in the Philadelphia area and once was a jazz musician in New York City.
