The Way of Prayer
The Way of Prayer is a 10-week study resource designed to help people expand their understanding of the nature and practice of prayer. Many Christians grow up with a limited vision of what prayer is and how to pray. The Way of Prayer offers many forms to explore and practice, both individually and as a group. People with different temperaments, spiritual types, and learning styles will each find expressions of prayer that draw them closer to God. They will also learn to integrate body, mind, and spirit in prayer, and to live a more creative rhythm between the inner life and the outward journey of service. This resource can help bring greater scope and vitality into the prayer life of your congregation. It is recommended that participants complete the original 28-week Companions in Christ course before participating in The Way of Prayer.

The Leader's Guide provides leaders with a complete outline and content for each of the weekly meetings. It also includes a Needs-at-a-Glance introductory page to make preparing for each meeting simple and quick. Each guide in the Companions series assumes that leaders are new to the formational group process and includes the full introductory materials, guidance for leading formational groups, and a description of the unique leadership skills needed.
"I have been in active ministry since 1958 and over the years have had the opportunity to work with hundreds of resources. There has, in my experience, never been anything to compare with this material. It has been a life-changing experience for all who became Companions and has been a transforming work in our assembly."
- Peter D. Warner, Ph.D., Portland, Oregon
"Companions in Christ is a wonderful opportunity for nurture and care in an intergenerational setting. Companions allows me to explore my spiritual life in a new way, leading me to a deeper reading of scripture and more creative and intentional prayer life."
- Kara Oliver, Nashville, Tennessee
