The Way of Blessedness

The Way of Blessedness is a 9-week study using The Beatitudes from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount. The journey invites participants to discover Jesus' vision of the kingdom of God on earth, and to develop a personal "rule of life" that helps us reside in that kingdom. It is recommended that participants complete the original 28-week Companions in Christ course before participating in The Way of Blessedness.

The Way of Blessedness: Participant's Book

The Way of Blessedness is an invitation for small-group members to discover and live in the kingdom of God. Each week participants explore one of the Beatitudes from the Sermon on the Mount. This 9-week journey into Matthew 5 guides us into Jesus' most precious secrets of a truly joyful and blessed life, a life given in love to God's sovereign reign. The Way of Blessedness also guides participants along a path that helps them to develop a personal rule for "kingdom life."

The Way of Blessedness: Leader's Guide

The Leader's Guide provides leaders with a complete outline and content for each of the weekly meetings. It also includes a Needs-at-a-Glance introductory page to make preparing for each meeting simple and quick. Each guide in the Companions series assumes that leaders are new to the formational group process and includes the full introductory materials, guidance for leading formational groups, and a description of the unique leadership skills needed.

What people are saying ...

"We are now in our third year of Companions in Christ groups. As participants grow in faith, the ripple effects throughout the life of the congregation are thrilling. This experience is contributing to the kind of spiritual renewal we so need in this time."
- Rev. Patricia Farris, First United Methodist Church, Santa Monica, California
"As a teenager I was told that the Beatitudes were not 'for our time.' What a gift to have this Companions in Christ resource that not only affirms the vibrancy of the Beatitudes for our day -- but also -- provides a structure for a small group to ask the question: 'How might we become more fully citizens of God's kingdom?' This resource is a blessing!"
- Deborah Suess, Spokane Friends Church Pastor
